The 1938 Packard V-12 Landaulet by Rollston Doris Duke Car Won "Best Pre-War Open Car" at Concours D'Elegance in Newport, Rhode Island on May 31, 2009.

If you were the richest girl in the world and were given the opportunity to have a custom car designed and built for you, what would you have built? Tobacco heiress, Miss Doris Duke ( 11/22/1912 - 10/28/1993), was born in 1912 and, at age twenty five in 1937, visited the Rollston body company in New York City and commissioned those prestigious automotive body builders to produce her dream car. She was chauffeured many times from her estate at Duke Farms in New Jersey to her mansion at Rough Point in Newport, Rhode Island in this beautiful 1938 V-12 Packard Landaulet by Rollston. In 2007, Dick Shappy found the car in need of total restoration.
